While most of our designs represent a singular phage, this design is representative of two interesting phages, Bas63 and Sf14. Bas63 and Sf14 both belong to the Ounavirus phage family. Despite the fact that these phages are quite divergent in terms of their DNA sequences, they are structurally almost identical. Each phage infects a different host; Bas63 is known to infect E. coli, a bacterium that can be harmful depending on the strain. Sf14 however is known to infect Shigella flexneri, a more strictly pathogenic and harmful bacterium. Bother are groovy phages.
