But as is always is the case, nature cares little for our arbitrary ideas of what a thing is, or ought to be. Introducing another hybrid design, phage sv771\/Milano, the unexpectedly curvy Myophages.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\n Phage Sv771 and Phage Milano infect species of the Genus Agrobacterium, most famous for the plant pathogenic speicies Tumefaciens, which causes plant tumor growth. These phages bind to the host's swimming machinery (the flagellum), hitching a ride to the cell surface to enact their treachery. While there are several interesting traits in regards to these phages, the most striking is of course their curved tail. Just imagine a sausage dog, that curves its body to one side. Its that kind of odd in Myophage world! The universe doesn't like boxes i suppose!\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWhy are their tails curved? No one knows!
